Galatasary move in for Arshavin

With the arrival of Gervinho it would seem that the Arsenal and Russia star Andre Arshavin may find himself out in the cold, as the Ivory Coast striker can operate on either wing as well as a second striker.

Arshavin was rarely used for a full game last season, and only sparsely showed his flashes of brilliance when used as an impact sub. Both Wenger and Arshavin himself have announced that he won’t be leaving this summer, but if he stays will his first-team appearances be even more restricted by the new arrivals?

His old club Zenit St. Petersburg have already said they would love him to return to Russia as well as the newly-rich Russian team FC Ankhi, and today it seems that Galatasary have also approached the Gunners with a £13.5m bid for Arshavin.

As the Russian only has 18 months left on his contract Wenger should really consider selling him for that sort of price. In Turkey he would be halfway home, and much more likely to be getting regular first-team football….

Oh and of course the fee would cover the outlay for Gervinho!
