A strange report on Sky Sports says that a 16-year old Leeds defender has told all his friends he is joining Everton…on Facebook! The article said: Leeds youngster Luke Garbutt has claimed he is on his way to Everton, according to a posting on social networking site Facebook.
The highly-rated left-back, 16, impressed for England’s Under-17s during the recent European Championships in Germany.
The Toffees are now poised to make a raid on the Whites, who have lost of number of talented teenagers to Premier League clubs following their fall from grace.
Writing on his own Facebook wall, he said: “Luke Garbutt is moving to Liverpool on Friday.”
When asked whether he was joining Everton, he replied: “Yes, yes I’m off on Friday.”
