The West Ham striker Demba Ba is reported to have a clause in his contract that allows him to leave Upton Park if they got relegated, and the favourites to sign him are Newcastle as Alan Pardew searches around for a ready-made replacement for Andy Carroll.
With Ba’s previous injury problems, he will have to pass a medical at St. James Park before the deal can go through, but today the Mail reckons that Everton’s David Moyes is trying to make a late bid to take Ba to Goodison Park.

Everton were named as one of the clubs interested in signing Ba at the end of the season, with Moyes in desperate need of a proven goalscorer, but it is well-known that he needs to secure a buyer for one of his stars before he has funds for the transfer market.
Man City and Arsenal are said to be favourites to sign Leighton Baines, while today Chelsea and Tottenham are reported to be fighting over Jack Rodwell but the Newcastle boss has the cash on hand to conclude any deals quickly, which must make him favourite to take Ba off the Hammers…
