Tottenham defender Jonathan Woodgate praised his teammate Jermaine Defoe’s form and declared he believes Defoe can do “anything he likes”, although Woodgate has little hope for himself to be included in England’s WC squad.
“I don’t train all the time and Capello likes people who train every day. I haven’t given up but we’ll see what happens.” Woodgate said.
“Fabio Capello seems to have a lot of faith in him [Defoe] and he’s been outstanding.
“He can make a massive impact at the World Cup, without a doubt.
“Put Jermain Defoe up playing for Barcelona and I’m sure he’d be well known as well.
“Full credit to him, he does it in training everyday.
“The Golden Boot? He’s got every chance, hasn’t he?”
Defoe is now on cloud 9 (maybe even higher) having become only the 3rd player to net 5 goals in the same game in an EPL fixture.
