The BBC have confirmed that Former England Captain David Beckham has put an end to all speculation linking him with a return to European football by inking a new 2-year contract with his club, LA Galaxy.
Beckham joined Galaxy in 2007 from Spanish giants Real Madrid, and achieved his first success with the team in the 2011 season, lifting the MLS Cup.
Beckham’s contract with LA Galaxy had expired on 31st December 2011 and with a change in the air at French side Paris St. Germain, there were rumours afloat that he could pack his bags and move to the French capital for a season or two. However, the 36-year old has decided that with his family well settled in California it would be best to end his career with the Galaxy.
David Beckham became a football icon during his career with Manchester United, the club he joined as a youngster, and signed a professional contract in 1993. He won many honours with the club during his 11 year stay before leaving for £25 million to join the Galacticos of Real Madrid. After 4 years with Real, an opportunity arose for him to be part of a soccer revolution in the United States, and a lucrative 5 year deal worth in excess of £100 million proved too good to resist.
