Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu has struggled to find regular starting places under manager Roberto Di Matteo and could be heading back to Spain with Valencia or Espanyol are his probable destinations.
The 21-year-old joined the English side from Barcelona in 2011 and was making good strides under previous manager Andre Villas-Boas. However, after the departure of the Portuguese, Romeu found hard to break into the first eleven and his growth rate took a setback from therein.
Al though, Chelsea sold Michael Essien, Raul Meireles and Yossi Benayoun in the summer, which could have opened the door for young Romeu to leave a long lasting impression, but the technically-sounded midfielder is struggling to cope up with the expectations from his new manager.
According to Daily Mail, the agent of the player, Magico Diaz is already looking for other alternatives for his client and it is understood that he has held talks with Spanish side Valencia at the weekend. Espnayol, sitting on 19th this season are also looking to add a quality midfielder to their ranks and could edge out Los Che in the bidding war for the Chelsea midfielder.
Romeu is a technically gifted player but lack of games under his belt is hampering his confidence in England. Good for him if he plies his trade in his homeland to get regular matches.
