Chelsea insist that Terry must decide on Man City offer quickly

The recent news that Man City have made a mega-offer to Chelsea’s captain John Terry, which was publicly declined by the Blues, has upset the Chelsea management, and they want John Terry to tell the world where his heart lies.

An article on ESPN this morning said: Chelsea are growing increasingly frustrated with John Terry’s refusal to commit himself to the club.

The Stamford Bridge captain is being tracked by cash rich Manchester City, and has already been the subject of a £30million offer – a bid that was quickly turned down by the Chelsea hierarchy.

Throughout the ongoing saga, Terry, who could earn £300,000-a-week if he chose to join Mark Hughes’ Eastlands revolution, has been reluctant to slam the transfer talk, a stance that, according to the News of the World, has infuriated Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea are now bracing themselves for an improved bid from City, and have told Terry to put on a public show of loyalty or hand in a written transfer request.

The move has been instigated by new Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti and backed by Abramovich.

Sources within Chelsea fear that Terry, who already earns an amazing £140,000-a-week, may use the situation to demand Chelsea increase his earnings, something the club may be willing to do. They will not, however, match City’s financial package.

The latest news surrounding Terry, comes in the same week that the England international urged his Chelsea teammates to give their total support to Ancelotti.

“Next season we need to make sure we start a lot better than we did last year and really push for the Premier League because I would love to win that trophy again, as well as being back in the mix for the Champions League,” said Terry.

“It is important we realise Ancelotti is going to be here for a good few years, he is going to bring in his own players, staff and training methods.

“We need to adapt to that and move Chelsea in the right direction.”

Would Terry find it difficult to turn down an offer that big? Or should he stay and lead Chelsea to more trophies under Ancelotti?

well after much consideration and sleepless nights, i have talked it over with my wife who loves to shop, and we have decided to take the money and run.
i have been very happy here at Chelsea but i am sure i will be much more happier at man city, plus i already hate Ferguson so that’s a bonus in its self.
    i loved being in the company of roman abramovich, but my new friend is considerably richer and that really appeals to me {and my wife}
    thank you

Yes JT come to City. There’s no way on God’s earth that Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool or Arsenal are finished but we’d love you to be the rock upon which we can build a truly world class club. Forget the money, be part of history.

The Sheik’s underlings have provided this press release:

City be great! If it is so willed, the team of the Sheik shalt tempt the infidel and he shall come to us and hold out his hand as the others have done, and take our riches. In all of Arabia only one team is mighty, and that is the Arabian team known as City. The English peasants in Manchester do bend and fawn to our wealth and call us Master and will allow us to do anything we wish. For a few sacks of gold, these urchins will sell their heritage and their future and we laugh as we claim their club as our own. Hail the Arab team of City! Hail the Sheik! And laugh at the foolish locals who still beleive they follow an English team! Laugh! Laugh! And praise the Arab overseers!!!

  8. John Terry says:

    To everyone concerned,
I am not leaving Chelsea and have talked it over with my wife. I have come to a conclusion that is in favour of Chelsea. I think Man City has a huge project and will start winning trophies in the next 3 or 4 years. But i want to win titles now and Carlo (Ancelotti) has assured me we will. I have already spoken to him and he has said i am indespensible and are a major part of his plans
    Cheers
