Chelsea chasing THREE top-class midfielder in bid to replace Essien

The unbelievable injury to Michael Essien in Chelsea second day of traing has galvanised Roman Abramovich to step up his search for new midfielders.

Chelsea were trying hard to persuade Tottenham to allow Luka Modric to leave, but Spurs have stood firm despite, according to the Daily Mail, an improved £27m offer from Chelsea. Modric has started slinging mud at Daniel Levy to force the sale, so it will be interesting to see if Levy sticks by his threat to leave Modric to rot in the reserves rather than sell him to a rival.

The Metro reports that Chelsea are going to return to Real Madrid with another bid for Kaka if Tottenham continue to rebuff their advances. They say that Inter Milan have already had a £27m bid for the Brazilian turned down, but surely Chelsea won’t pay over the odds for a player that is now second-fiddle at Madrid, despite his former glory.

Much more believable is the report in the Mirror that Andre Villas-Boas is keen on bringing West Ham’s Scott Parker back to Stamford Bridge to cover for Essien. Parker was fantastic last season and is getting on a bit, but for around £9m he could be extremely handy to have in the squad for those gritty Premier League games.

Who would Chelsea fans prefer? Parker, Modric or Kaka?

CHELSEA ARE GOING TO SIGN LUCA WITHIN A WEEK TIME. SO NO KAKA AND NO PARKER. THEY WON’T IMPROVE OUR TEAM.

  • matt

Modric would have been the perfect signing for chelsea football club. i which we could sign him he’s capable, competent and energetic to handle the central mildfield and he’s a kind of playmaker and ball channel distributor.

  • oli

    none of them.

    Pastore/Hamsik would better suit us

  • Olabode

Modric is still beter, but kaka is not a player that chelsea need and not even parker

  • Adeloku Adeola

Modric if far better than Kaka with their present form, so i will suggest we go for Modric.

  • Adelokun Adeola

Parker is not a player Chelsea need for now, we want a strong midfielder, so Kaka and parker are not need at Stamford Bridge, Modric is the answer to our midfield.

pastore is the player chelsea should be signing een him ” live ” on a few occasions and he does really make things happen for Palermo, nearly everything goes through him.

I’ve seen the odd under age Argentina game and tournaments where he stood out also for his size and his abiltiy to make things look effortless, much like a Zidane or Kaka, but that was under age.

I think hes certainly good enough but everyone will question the price tag. Ideally if we could get him for £35 Million tops I’d say we we’re doing well but I dont see it happening and anyone that wants him will have to stump up the valuation Palermo have slapped on him.

snijder and jack rodwell, snijder can be the creative midfielder that chelsea have been missing, who will be able to play that perfect ball to torres. then jack rodwell can fill in for essein then he can go center back if he needs too.

As me modric is a better player for chelsea than the other two (kaka&parker)chelsea should do everything to sign in modric.

  • Princekid
