With Claudio Ranieri faltering badly Inter Milan, president Massimo Moratti has reportedly started putting together his shortlist of possible replacements for the veteran Italian. Topping that list according to TalkSport is current Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas.
The Portuguese youngster has failed to live up to expectations at Stamford Bridge this season and perhaps the most surprising element of his short reign so far at the Blues is that he is yet to get the boot from Russian owner Roman Abramovich, a man not known for his patience.
With Chelsea barely hanging on to the fourth and final Champions League qualifying spot in England, any further slips will surely spell the end for Villas-Boas, and chances are he could well be in the job market this summer. Meanwhile Inter themselves are in a spot of bother having been drubbed 4-0 at the weekend by Roma, and are currently outside the Champions League spots in Italy.
Missing out on Champions League football would not be acceptable for Inter, and it will be interesting to see if they are prepared to wait for the summer before making a change at the helm.
