Bayern Munich have started the season poorly and there are rumblings that some of the players at the Bundesliga side are not happy, with numerous players looking to move on next summer. There has even been a suggestion that Inter Milan are setting up a huge bid to test Bayern’s resolve for Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The news is likely to put Chelsea and Arsenal on red alert as they seek to put more European blood into their midfield with the African Cup of Nations yet again to disturb player routines and team selections in 2012. Schweinsteiger is seen as one of the Worlds best holding midfielders and it is well known that he and his wife would prefer a London location to that of somewhere up North.
It is unlikely that Arsenal would be able to match any sort of transfer fee that is being talked about but Chelsea would certainly be in with a shout for the 26 year old.
Local fans of the Bundesliga club are expecting a complete turnaround in the fortunes of the club after such a poor start, although many feel that failure to reach a Champions League spot next season will result in many of their top stars requesting to move on.
