The Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech was singled out as a trouble maker by the departed coachh was singled out as a trouble maker by Big Phil Scolari, but he has hit out at his suggestion.
In an interview in the Mirror, he made his feelings public: Scolari singled out Cech, Didier Drogba and Michael Ballack as the Chelsea players who stabbed him in the back and also accused Cech of training with coach Christophe Lollichon on his own.
But Cech hit back at Scolari, also insisting that his form did not drop last season despite coming in for criticism for the first time in his Chelsea career.
Cech said: “I was disappointed and surprised because I always had huge respect for Mr Scolari.
“I’m really disappointed with it because I have never had in my life my personal goalkeeping coach. I haven’t even heard of that happening at any team. It was not true.
“Suddenly in the middle of the season we had a change in the way we trained – and it was only a change for the goalkeepers.
“The way we had been training was getting results, keeping clean sheets and we had the best defensive record in the league then suddenly we had a complete change which I couldn’t understand.
“The only thing I had was when I went to ask why and that was the only time I went to see him and suddenly I was appointed as someone who makes trouble which was not right.”
That came before Cech’s form was questioned for the first time after making rare mistakes against Bolton and then against Liverpool in the Champions League three days later.
Cech was annoyed that his life-threatening head injury at Reading three years ago was being referred to again and that he had never been the same keeper since.
But Cech says that, despite doctors telling him he must continue to wear his headguard for yet another season, his injury has made him stronger and no less brave.
He said: “I still feel I’m improving every season and hopefully next year will be another step.
“It was fair for people to criticise but some of them criticised me for the whole season which was not true.
“I had been playing well, training well and keeping clean sheets.
“We had the best defence in the Premier League.
“What happened at Reading even made me stronger because when you go through a difficult period you know it’s not always like that.
“I never have any fear on the pitch so I don’t feel it’s affected me.”
Scolari started his carrer at Chelsea brilliantly, but the fans could see when the atmosphere started affecting results. Do any Chelsea fans think he should have been given longer to prove himself?

I never wanted him in the 1st place. He was a disaster, worse than The Toad, should have got rid of him sooner.
