This game could bring Chelsea back to the very top of the table, depending on the outcome of the Man Utd V Liverpool game earlier today. In either case though, the visitors will need to win to keep their hopes of winning the title healthy, while the hosts will probably give their best only to produce a result to be proud of, but really have nothing much to play for in terms of EPL standings.
Chelsea are still sobering up from the shocking defeat in Europe, but they are a team with a character, and should bounce back in style, so expect no half-hearted play from Ancelotti’s men.
Blackburn are of course 8-4-2 at home which is quite a strong home form, but they are well used to losing to Chelsea here at Ewood Park, although the Carling Cup tie this season proved otherwise (Blackburn won on a PK shooutout).
Blackburn will once again have to settle for Brown in their goal, and while I’m not a big fan of Robinson I would still have preferred the Rovers 1st choice keeper if I was at all interested in backing the home side on the handicap.
Now that I see the odds though, I think it’s better to side by Chelsea to win by more than one goal. It’s either they do or kiss the EPL title goodbye already.
