It is being reported in this mornings Daily Express that Blackburn boss Sam Allerdyce has decided to make a bid for the Hibs striker Steven Fletcher, who was expected to be a target for Celtic this summer. Their report says:
SAM ALLARDYCE will bid £4million to bring Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher to Blackburn.
Scotland international Fletcher, 22, has scored more than 50 goals for the SPL club and Allardyce is desperate to bring in strikers after selling Roque Santa Cruz to Manchester City .
Celtic had a bid for Fletcher turned down in January, and were expected to make a new move this summer, but coach Mark Venus played down any immediate bid for him. He said: “He was okay, a decent player with potential,” Venus said.
“He has done well for Hibs and scored a lot of goals.
“But I don’t know if Steven’s future is here.
“I think he has signed a new contract with Hibernian 12 months ago so I would suggest his future is there at the moment.”
Is Fletcher ready to do well in the Premiership?
