Bayern Munich accept Aston Villa bid for German international

According to an “exclusive” in the Mail, Aston Villa have been given permission to talk to Tim Borowski. The report said: Aston Villa have been given the green light to pursue their interest in Germany midfielder Tim Borowski but face competition from his former club Werder Bremen.

Villa manager Martin O’Neill is believed to be considering a £5m move for Bayern Munich’s powerful 29-year old, and Allianz Arena insiders insist that would be more than enough to prise him away.

New Bayern coach Louis Van Gaal is keen to stamp his mark on the Bundesliga side, after officially taking over earlier this week, and is prepared to sacrifice Borowski to add to his transfer budget.

He may not be short of takers after it emerged that Werder Bremen have also registered an interest in the versatile 6ft 4in German international, who has been used in an attacking midfield role by his country but can also fill the anchor position or even operate on the flanks.

It sounds like he will be a good replacement for Gareth Barry. Do Villa fans want him to come?

Borowski is a great player that was never given a proper chance at Bayern. Also Bayern’s system doesnt really suit him. I think he would do good in England.

  2. Joe says:

    Steven Defour?

  3. Ted says:

No Joe – Tim Borowski. Can you not read?

  4. Avillian says:

I for one think this is a good player for us if we sign him from what ive read and seen on youtube bt you cant really judge a player on tht so i would prefer steven defour who looks much betta on youtube and ive actually seen him play a couple of games and looks class , i do love villa bt we always seem to miss out on the good players cz martin doesnt want to pay over the odds for a player and would rather buy average players on a cheap except for young and milner who were class signings, ive got faith in martin bt am getting a little worried rememba so far he hasnt let us down
