Reports across England are suggesting that Aston Villa are hot on the trails of Tottenham Hotspur attacker Niko Kranjcar. The 26 year old has found himself much lower on the pecking order recently at the London club, and the arrival and great form of Van Der Vaart could mean he will be moving on quicker than first thought.
Gerard Houllier is looking for some more creativity in Aston Villa’s midfield and it is believed the Frenchman would like to have the Croatian as a permanent fixture in his starting eleven.
With fixtures coming thick and fast for Harry Redknapp and Tottenham, with their entry to this seasons Champions League, the Spurs boss might be reluctant to sell as he looks to keep his squad intact for the remainder of this season.
Aston Villa, meanwhile will have to face competition from Monaco who are also on the prowl. A figure of around £8m has been suggested although it could rise to £10m depending on how desperate both clubs are to get their man.

There are really some awful writers on the internet. Notice the players name isnt mentioned once in the title or the content. Ok, we all know its Kranjcar but come on, this is basics!
Aero, check the 3rd line of text in the first paragraph, Kranjcar is mentioned.
I think this is exactly the sort of player Aston Villa need. However, the price suggested is too high. Also Fabian Delph will return to fitness at about the same time that this signing can be completed and if he can regain full fitness, he will be a better player in my opinion.
