The Arsenal midfielder Andrei Arshavin has totally denied the rumours that he is likely to leave the Gunners to join Real Madrid this summer.
The little Russian has had unproductive talks with Arsenal over a contract extension, which has led to rumours that he may be moving on, with Real Madrid and the newly-rich Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala being linked strongly with a move for the 30 year-old.

Arshavin has never hidden his desire to play for Barcelona one day, and has emphasised that by saying he would never play for their great rivals Real Madrid.

He said: “They are things invented on the internet. More than one time I have said that this season I will play in Arsenal colours. I would not play for Real Madrid for all the money in the world. For me, Real is a complete taboo because I’m an admirer of Barcelona.”
This quote came from the London Evening Standard, but perhaps they got confused with an interview with Cesc Fabregas!
