News from Belgium is that Arsenal have finally made some serious enquires about Standard Liege’s 20 year old attacking midfielder Axel Witsel
Arsenal have been linked with the youngster for some time as have Everton and occasionally Spurs but it now appears that only Arsenal have made any serious moves to get the player.
It is said that he would cost as much as €15 Million and that is near the top end of what Arsenal usually would pay but nonetheless still within their budget criteria.
Witsel has been very influential at Standard Liege and is good with both feet able to play left wing or right wing and if required through the centre.
He is also young enough to fit in with Wenger’s youth policy, a policy that in fact has won them nothing for a few years now.

to be honest, i have never heard of this guy and all these rumours about Yaya Toure coming to Arsneal are exciting, just not believable.
I think that Arsenal need to dig into their wallets and bring in an experienced bull doser in teh centre of teh pitch, someone who has the same style of play as Marcos Senna, i mean… come on, its not everyday you see someone score a screamer liek he did against us at his age is it ?
If someone like him, younger, faster, stronger (probably not as strong) and just as determined and passionate as that guy. Then were in for a trophy.
Not some guy that hardly anyone has heard of or as young him, we need a talented and experienced player who can play at premeir league level and dominate the midfield, i recommened that Arsenal should aim for players like De Rossi, Mikele, Essien or even give all of us Arsenal fans the dream we desire, Yaya Toure.
