Arsenal are looking to strengthen their squad with a move for Toulouse defender Aymen Abdennour once the transfer window opens again in January, according to reports in France over the weekend.
Abdennour, 22, started his career in his homeland of Tunisia with Etoile du Sahel, and had a loan spell with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen before joining Toulouse in the summer. He has also represented Tunisia 10 times, and he scored his first international goal against Chad in June in a African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Arsenal scouts have been seen regularly at Toulouse’s games this season, where Abdennour has played in seven of their nine Ligue 1 fixtures. It is not the first time they have been to see the Tunisian because when he was on loan at Werder Bremen in 2010 he was brought to their attention then.

It his his displays this season though that have caught the eye of the Arsenal scouts, and a source close to the French outfit confirmed they were in attendance at their recent home game against Nancy at the end of September when Toulouse won 1-0.
It remains to be seen what will happen at the Emirates in January as Abdennour is just one a number of players that have been linked with a possible move to the Gunners.
