Club or country? That has always been a controversial question with no definite answer found still. On the one hand, being professional means you get paid for giving the club your all. On the other, patriotism is a bless, and FIFA is stressing on it as well.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sees fit remind his players it’s the club that pays their wages though, hinting the distraction of the World Cup finals in the summer is not needed at this time.
“For me, the big season is with Arsenal, not the World Cup,” Wenger declared.
“We don’t pay players to go to the World Cup – we pay them to do well for Arsenal. The first pride of a man is to do well for the guy who pays you.
Many Gunners players have conceded various injuries playing for their national this season. Robin van Persie, Andriy Arshavin, Kieran Gibbs and Theo Walcott are amongst those who had to be sidelined at one time or another, and some have even been injured in friendlies.
The Gunners skipper Cesc Fabregas commented: “He wants Arsenal to do well and the international teams are secondary,”
“Sometimes I don’t play for Spain – I am on the bench. So definitely I want to play well for Arsenal to start in the World Cup.
“Definitely on my mind in a World Cup year is to play well with Arsenal and be a starter for Spain.”
Well for the players the World Cup finals will always be bigger for them than a one off club season no matter what Wenger says.
Wont be often his players ignore him but on this we suspect they will.

Ofcourse wenger is on duty. The players should deliver services of winning each and avery game for arsenal to take trophies not world cup.
And why do you suspect they will ignore him…….. amateurs.
