Chelsea’s policy of buying top stars rather than promote from within seems to have driven one promising youngster to prefer a move to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, a team with the distinct policy of promoting their youngsters.
The player in question is 17 year-old Frank Nouble, who is a close friend of the midfielder Jack Wilshere, who recently signed a long term professional contract at the Emirates.
Nouble has worked his way up through Chelsea’s youth system after joining them at just 11 years of age, and has become a certain starter in the reserves last season.
He has been favourably compared to Ryan Babel as he is a fast winger/striker that is not afraid to beat defenders, or to score when given the chance. Chelsea’s official website describes him as: “Frank is a south London boy who has been with Chelsea since Under 12 level. A forward capable of playing centrally or wide, he is very quick and strong in one-on-one situations.
Well Nouble has been offered a first professional contract with Chelsea, as he approaches his 18th birthday, but it has been reported that he has turned down the chance to remain at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
There may be the reason that he is an avid Man Utd supporter that could have swayed him, but it has been said that he has had a few other offers, notably from Tottenham and Arsenal, but Arsenal are thought to be favourites due to their emphasis on the youths coming through.
As Nouble is rated one of the best teenage talents in England, there is every reason for him to expect to get noticed by Arsene Wenger sooner than later. But Nouble is a realist enough to understand that he chances to play in the Chelsea first team are likely to be restricted by the array of senior talent already at the club.

let him go. if he can’t hack it at cfc, and isn’t willing to compete, then ill gladly take sturridge and let this panty waste play with the rest of the frenchies and softies at the emirates.
I hav to advice him to stay b/cos he’s one of our future hope. But why cant we give our youths the chance to prove theirselves but we go on signing other club’s youths who are not even beta than ours, unlike struigde who is not even beta than di-santo whom we are trying to loan out?
no1 reli cares about chelsea anyway.. there the past not the future
gerald you are truly stupid mate. who wouldnt want to leave chelsea? all they do is buy and buy and buy, hoping the so called “superstars” will mould together. without money chelsea are nothing. the players only play for you for the money. no team spirit. no desire. at arsenal they have desire. it has been a while since we have won trophies, but thats because we dont have 1billion bucks to spend like you guys. hope chelsea fail hard this season. youre just jealous that nouble is moving to the BETTER arsenal than boring, stupid chelsea.
Same ol arsenal giving the same old excuses year after year. All the clubs buy look at Manu Liverpool Tottenham! Man City! Barcelona! REal Madrid!!! they all buy . So why shouldnt Chelsea? Why does Chelsea get singled out everytime ?the answer is simple. We are a new club with a Russian owner. That makes u gerald meathead a narcissistic racist. Thats right i said it and ill say it again. Tell ur club and its manager Wenger to stop moaning about cash-flow and generate some revenue to try and buy. And that jazz about Arsenal not wanting to buy because they dont believe in buying big-names is bollocks. Simply because yourl whine about having no money. Take that u North London bacchas.
Does no 1 have any brains everyone buys just depends on how much cash u have to who or how many every 20M 20 year old was a 3m 16y so if u can buy the right dozen 16 year olds each year after a 4 year wait u can compete on 1 seventh the budget 36M against 240M thats the theory . At the moment Arsenal don,t have the money so this is the only option avaliable
