Agent – No buyers for Denilson, he will return to Arsenal for pre-season

Both Nicklas Bendtner and Denilson announced at the end of the season that they were looking to leave Arsenal this summer to gain regular first team football, but it seems there has been little interest in either player.

Bendtner’s father told the press that his son was under offers from Sporting Lisbon and Borussia Dortmund, both of which were subsequently denied by the clubs in question, and now Denilson’s agent has reported that there have been no offers for his client either, and it looks like he will be rejoining the Arsenal squad for pre-season training as usual.

Denilson said that he expected to move to Spain or Italy as a better fit for his style of football, but his agent, Santiago Gerardo, admitted that there were no offers forthcoming so far.

“I don’t know anything about Milan, at the moment they are rumours,” Gerardo said. “The only certainty is that if nothing happens in the coming days, Denilson will join Arsenal for pre-season on July 7.

“Spanish and Italian clubs? At the moment there are no talks. I usually speak with Wenger about certain things, but we have not spoken about Denilson.”

What on earth will Wenger do with the Brazilian next season if nobody makes an offer?

Seriously? No one wants him? Thats kinda sad that his an unwanted Arsenal player. Perhaps he can go home an play for a Brazil side. Unless they don’t want him too.

  • olalekan

Let him,go please ,dont beg a useless players

  • deejay

Its worrying that if the club cannot move denilson and bendtner, there will be 2 less new signings. Best thing for both is to go out on loan Denilson to QPR and bendter to bolton / stoke / WBA

  • Patrick

Strictly speaking, this is not true. For every player there is always a price tag. The fact that hey have been unable to find alterative clubs indicates that they are OVER-PAID in their current situation and other clubs are not willing to pay so much for the quality they bring. This begs the question, why are they so well paid at Arsenal?

  • Gfunck

I’ll take him here in Australia for my Friday night indoorfootball team AW I’ll give u $3

  • schoolboy

well..that’s not surprising. hope this will be a lesson for them to practice and work harder next season, and show quality so that some club would want to take them in January. But I don’t know if AW will involved them in games next season..hope he don’t :)

  • lee

because they crap y wood someone pay 4 crap or championship players

  • caolan

wat about buy1 get 1 free

  • ibezimako josemaria

denilson should be flogged to either russia or the ukraine .. there he will meet other brasilians in disapora .. england can be unforgiven when it comes to making players feel at home .. denilson is a nice player i do wish him well …but he need to go soon so that he can get first team football

  • pmj

pls WENGER wont k if u sign anybody or not, as long as u throw away this tramp. pls help dis club release DENILSON of all contract, i can’t bear to think we r still paying him pls free him. we need space for frimpong, lansbury, ramsey, coquien even vela.

  • tash88

I could never get rid off him in football manager as well, he would always ask arsenal to pay a part of his wages cause no orapy teams could afford his wages. Which makes u wonder. How much do these fringe players at arsenal earn compared to better players at less presigious clubs such as charlie adams.

Such a shame, two players with such high ambitions. One’s a ‘winner’ and the other is a self proclaimed ‘best striker in the world’ and no club wants either one of them. How embarrassed will the pair be if they remain with Arsenal next season? It’ll have to be a ‘buy one get one free’ deal the way things are going.

  • barrpo

Such a shame. Two players with such high ambitions, one’s a ‘winner’ and the other is a self proclaimed ‘best striker in the world’ and no club is even taking a glance at them. How embarrassed will the pair be if they remain at Arsenal next season after all the big talk? I think we’ll have to do a buy 1 get 1 free deal with these two.

  • Aussie Jack

Now we are begining to fully understand why we didn`t win the Premiership and we still have to pay their wages…

  • gooner80

olalekan, how can they let him go if there is no offer for him? That’s the title of the article

  • mcmalik

shame and a big one at that.not so long ago denlison was able to play every single game in d season.with injuries halting is progress last season i would have expected that he would declare is desire to get is postion in d arsenal midfield back rather then joining the rebel van taking a seat along side B52 ,Fab4 and unexcpetedly samir nasir. All these players should show more commitiment and loyalty for what arsenal as made dem.

  • Charlie

It was always going to be difficult. Nik visualised Bayern Munich bidding 15m to sign him and in reality he should be looking for an 6m bid from St Pauli whereas Denilson saw himself being a 10m target for AC Milan when in reality he would be a 1m target for Empoli.

  • mfundo

Arsenal should realease both players – fee and reduce our wage bill for other players! We can’t have another season of grumpy Bentner teelling us about his prowess! AW should facilitate something, it’s their wish to leave anyway!

  • bc

Just leave him out till he sorts out a move

  • SAGoon

Lets put him back on ebay.. He was nearly auctioned off a few days ago. £15000, well worth it:)

  • Mohamed Zubairu

Both Denilson and Bendner should go at all cost. If they doon’t get a transfer, let us loan them to some championship clubs so that they will not occupy vital spots in our 25 man squad for next season. Even if we do not buy their replacements, let us fill their spaces with promising youths from the reserve team.

  • Kalebd63

This only demonstrates what all the Arsenal fans have been aware of over the past 6 years,,, we have been buying mediocre players and boxing above our weight!

  • Mohamed Zubairu

Arsene should lok at this issue and that of bendtner and learn a bitter lesson. He has demonstrated enormous faith in these below average players who have failed to justify the faith. Instead of keeping quiet and hope that they keep enjoying the ride at the expense of the entire Arsenal family, they go on to berate the club for not fulfilling their trophy ambitions. Imagine Denilson claiming to be a winner and needing a club with the same ambition to fulfill his dream. Meanwhile, it is their below par performance as squad players that should be blamed for our failings. It is time to get rid of all these dead woods. In my opinion, players like Almunia, Squillaci, Diaby, Rosicky (unfortunately) and possibly Eboue should be released from the club. We should replace a few of them from the market and the rest from the reserve or academy. Lansbury for instance should do us better than Denilson and JET or Afobe than Bendtner.

  • zever mark

I hope wenger learns from this we need to ship out these players no matter the means almunia, denilson, bendtner, squillaci as this would create space for mannone, frimpong, gervinho and cahill respectively and we can conquer Europe with our squad.

  • Arsenal99

I dont know why every comment on this page is a negative reaction. I really dont think both players in question are bad at all.

People are questioning there loyalty, when they have been the brunt of the fans anger for last season. Arsenal fans dont realise both these players didnt even play much last season and are NOT the reason we ended up trophyless.

Denilson is a good player, he suits our game, he keeps the ball ticking, i agree he needs to improve his strength to become a better defensive midfielder but i still think he can be a good player, his first touch is very good.

Bendtner is a good striker, he just needs to improve in situations but does have good attributes.

I dont know why we are so against them, they have done good in there arsenal careers and have had some really good games for Arsenal.

Fans of Arsenal just really dissapoint me, we need to get behind our players UNTIL they are no longer part of our club. The whole Eboue saga was embarrassing, booing our own player?

  • chris

Terrific….. no takers for Denilson nor Bendtner (if you can ever believe the media). If so tye whole Arsenal fan base could have told Wenger that some time ago. Perhaps they can grow some tits and play for the (trophy winning) Arsenal Ladies.
