The Italian giants AC Milan have made an enquiry for the lanky England striker and are expected to make a bid this week to trump Sunderland’s £14m bid, according to this “exclusive” report in todays Sunday Mirror.: Portsmouth are close to selling Peter Crouch but are waiting for a formal offer from the club the striker wants to join – AC Milan.
Milan have declared their interest in the England striker but have not made a written bid. Sources close to the Italian giants claim it will be tabled this week.
Sunderland have set the standard in bids for the marksman. They have offered £14million, and are ahead of Fulham in the Premier League bidding war.
Cash-strapped Pompey accept Crouch will be moving on. A deal is expected to be ratified in the next fortnight.

all i know is if he moves to italy we wont be on the plane to south africa ! he needs to be in the premier league and performing well week in week out to make next years world cup squad.
if sunderland have offered 14m it can only be assumed that the deal for darren bent from spurs must involve kenwyne jones, as crouch and jones could never play together!
i could see crouch and bent upfront being a decent pairing for sunderland, with maybe a lesser know foreigner as back up….so i hope the lad ends up at the stadium of light next season !
